Zahara draws its character from the shifting tones of dusk — deep charcoal layered with earthy taupe, creating a landscape of subtle movement. Across this textured field, a fine diamond lattice emerges, almost like lines traced in sand at the very edge of fading light.
The effect is atmospheric, modern, and unmistakably handcrafted.
Woven by Beni Mrirt artisans in Morocco’s Middle Atlas Mountains, Zahara is made from 100% hand-spun virgin wool. Its dense, velvety pile gives the rug a luxurious depth, while the tonal striping creates a sense of motion and calm at the same time.

Rugs
Each and every Beni rug is woven entirely by hand and then washed and dried in the mountain air. Current estimated lead times are:
- 274 × 366 cm and smaller: 12–16 weeks
- Larger than 274 × 366 cm: 16–20 weeks
Since your rug is hand-crafted, there will be natural, beautiful variations in pattern and color. These are sure signs of an authentic rug made just for you. Final sizes and pile heights can vary by up to 5% from what is ordered.
Can I return my rug?
All orders are final and we cannot accept returns. Please ensure all measurements, colors, and design are correct before submitting your order!
Can I cancel my order?
After placing an order, you have until 7:00 PM ET the following day to cancel and get your money back.
What if I don't like what I ordered?
We certainly hope that never happens! We're here to answer whatever questions you've got before you place an order to ensure you're 100% happy with your one-of-a-kind design.

Our rugs are made entirely by hand from 100% natural New Zealand wool, which means there will be natural (and beautiful) variations in pattern and color. While we do our best, final sizes can differ by 8%.

With the help of our dedicated team, you can choose between thousands of shades of colour, or we can match to a sample of anything you bring us. Designs can be fashioned into runners, ovals, circles, squares and more. We can even weave a rug to install as wall-to-wall carpeting.
Throughout the process we will show you renderings of the proposed design and how it might look, and may also make a small sample to check the new colours or materials. Weaving a rug to order typically takes two to three months, though very large or complex commissions may take longer. This wait, however, seems short when compared with the decades for which your custom piece will endure.
The weaving and wool quality of the modern Beni M’rirt carpets is excellent. They are hand woven according to traditional Berber weaving and they are incredibly dense and sumptuous.
Production time depends on the size of the rug. Starting from 8 to 12 weeks.
